Whether in practice, on game days, or in competition season, your athletes should be comfortable giving and receiving feedback to and from their teammates. Coaches, captains, and leaders must foster an environment that encourages healthy feedback, both in weaknesses and in strengths. Want to know how to teach and encourage this environment? Start by pairing up in practice and running the quarter turn drill. The watching partner gives the turning partner specific feedback on weaknesses and strengths. Run the drill again and show them the improvement from direct individualized feedback. Switch roles and repeat.
